Verse 1
Young and naive with our
Heads in the clouds
Whispering sweet nothings
And laughing out loud
Those three little words
Were so easy to say
We were invincible
Back in the day
Chorus
The taste of your kiss
The feel of your touch
The light in your eyes
The song in your words
Head over heels
We had all of the feels
I was punching above
With love beyond words
Music
Verse 2
The moment I met you
You captured my heart
We promised each other
That we’d never part
We travelled the world
And we stuck to the plan
Lived our best life
Side by side, hand in hand
Chorus
The taste of your kiss
The feel of your touch
The light in your eyes
The song in your words
Head over heels
We had all of the feels
I was punching above
With love beyond words

Bridge
Here we are now
Biding our time
Counting our blessings
We’re doing just fine
Those three little words
Were so easy to say
We were invincible
Back in the day
Chorus
The taste of your kiss
The feel of your touch
The light in your eyes
The song in your words
Head over heels
We had all of the feels
I was punching above
With love beyond words
I was punching above
With love beyond words

This is an over-the-top, sentimental song that was fun to write.
I remember my great Granny and Grandpa Harrower having a big party to celebrate their Golden Wedding Anniversary. This was around 60 years ago but it’s etched in my mind like it was yesterday. Much singing, dancing and merriment was had by all.
My husband and I are due to hit that milestone at the end of this year so that’s what brought back those memories and influenced this song. Time passes far too fast.
